That much weight on your hands says your saddle may be too far forward. Try moving it back 5 mm at a time until you get to the point where, with a little effort you can take your hands off the bars for a second or two without having to raise your back or shift your weight significantly. Note that for every 1 cm you move the saddle back, you'll need to move it down 2 or 3 mm to keep the same leg extension. You may also find that with the saddle in the right position, you need a shorter stem to get the correct "reach" to the bars.
"Fit" is the most important aspect of buying a road bike, and unfortunately it's also what usually gets the least consideration. With a bad fit, the bike will feel like it's fighting you on every pedal stroke. With a good fit, the bike "disappears" and you're left with that incredible feeling that keeps us all thoroughly addicted to cycling
And as others have said, if you're just starting out, there's nothing wrong with riding cheap platform pedals until you get your fit dialed in and get more comfortable on the bike.
