I agree that this is not the right bike for you.. This is for dedicated time-trialing and is going to always be uncomfortable. You could spend a bunch of $$$ on getting new bars, shifters, cables, etc. and you'll end up with a bike that is still setup to lean forward on... It's never going to be appropriate for riding around for pleasure/exercise.

On the bright side, someone into triathlons will buy this off you in a heartbeat.
