My new bike might not be that pretty to you, but i think its beautiful.
i picked up this 1981 Katakura Silk Speedmaster for 120 bucks this weekend, its been tuned up and has a new set of wheels and tubes.

Im a very tall guy, 6'5 with a above average rider inseam for my height. This bike fits me perfectly, sitting at 69cm. I also havent seen many of the japanese frames come in this size, which makes it a special little treat for me as well.

The only other bike i have is a hand me down commuter from my dad, im very excited to have MY first bike, and my first road bike at that. I intend to tune and replace parts all myself as i learn the art of bicycle maintenance this summer.



I already took it for a few rides this weekend, and also rode it into work this morning. Loving the heavy steel feel.
