How far is your commute to work. I used to ride my mountain bike then bought a hybrid bike to commute to work a few days a week. It was 8.5 miles one way. Your distance is a big factor in what you want to ride. I will never buy a bike again from Walmart. Bike shop or at least good sporting goods store. I bought my Diamondback Edgewood from Sports Authority and they did one free tune up for me after I put some miles on it. I had to learn how to do all the maintenance afterward. Many LBS will let you test ride their bikes to see what you like best, where a sporting goods store generally won't, although Sun and Ski Sports has been very good on allowing rides. Buying from Walmart you get what you pay for on quality and no service at all. Their bikes usually use substandard parts that you can't get at a bike shop so when things wear out that aren't on the shelf at Walmart you usually need a new bike. That is why I got the Diamondback I wore a Huffy completely out from commuting and recreational riding. I am getting an Orbea Aqua TSR because I am ready to move up to some longer distance riding and occasional charity events. Good luck on the search. I have been snooping here for years and can't find my old login from years ago.
