I never enjoyed the Burnaby portion of that. Winston is a crummy street with speeders trying to avoid lougheed. Then the gravel stretch. The not well connected portions. The intersection of death with Boundary, they put in a light right?

I would usually just use Lougheed and turn left at Boundary and join the path there.
