Well, I'd like bike lanes downtown and elsewhere for myself.... but if all it takes to get someone on a bike on even the quietest street is some green paint then why the hell aren't we slapping it down? Those awesome biking lanes shared earlier take a lot of $$ but paint... paint is cheap.
So get involved. Contact your local council. Locate your local cycling advocacy groups. Write letters. Attend meetings.
If it matters to you ... do something about it.
