Hey guys, I was thinking...

Can you switch an older road bike with a 1" threaded fork to a 1 1/8" thread-LESS fork? Before anyone flames me, it's not so hard on a BMX bike, that's my inspiration to ask. I want to replace a set of carbon forks but the 1" threaded type are few in number and VERY pricey. Plus I like the stem options for threadless as well. Is there any hope for me? (As far as newer style forks I mean)
