I find the Selle cutout on a Selle works better for me than a Brooks cutout on a Brooks, but I haven't tried what you did. Next best for me is a Specialized Toupe, but those are pretty hard on my sit bones.

OP, maybe you should try a leather saddle with or without a cutout to get a less intrusive support for your backside

RF, recommending saddles is dicey...but I agree on the leather and the OP needs to be sure the shop will accept returns. All 'butts' are not created equal.
