and crank addict, while cranky, i probably agree with you. i didn't mention it in the op, but when i first removed the skewer from this hub, i found the axle broken at the exact end of a cone. it was a real clean break. the overall quality of the wheel is real good, so i won't rebuld it, but i certainly hope the new axle doesn't result in the same fate. that would suck if actually out riding. and finding a replacement axle is a pain.
