...none of Contador's teammates made the initial selection, pretty awful performance I'd say.
I'm not familiar with the teams beyond the top riders, but the commentators did mention that the Dauphine TS team was not the first stringers who will be riding with Contador on the TDF. I'm not even sure that TS wanted to win the race that bad....for the teams with TDF GC ambitions, the main purpose of the Dauphine is a tune-up ride, not an objective unto itself.
