Thank you for the wonderful suggestions. Given the length of time I think I could complete the ACA Adirondack Loop + Erie canal trip. I love climbing but I also love to cover long distances so it may be a great mix.

Is wild camping permitted on either the canal or the park? I would prefer to set my hammock up for free if possible.
