literally anywhere here is a fine place to stay and start a ride from your door the city is only about 5 miles across at it's widest so no matter where you stay you aren't far from a ride. sypes canyon is another nice route with a bit of climbing, and springhill is a great flat route with gorgeous views, turns to dirt maybe 20km out, and goes well past that if you have a gravel bike, if you want to stop at a shop while you're here i wouldn't recommend anywhere but summit bike and ski - downtown just off main, best guys in town.
