I may do Iron Hill - it's still 6 weeks away so I'll be cat 4 by then. Probably be Cat 4 eligible next week if I do Rockleigh Thursday and then Central Park CRCA race on Saturday. Iron Hill is only 15 miles from my parent's house in Philly so it's pretty convenient if the wife and I take a trip down there to see family.
Whiteface is far - 5 hours from NYC/Jersey? Gsteinb, I thought you didn't do road races and hilly races?
I don't live in NYC. I don't even live near NYC.
Whiteface, where I have a house, is a bit less than 4 hours from my house in NJ.
I do Whiteface most years…does that count as hilly? I did the wilimington-whiteface RR two weeks ago. It's pretty tough to pass up races that start 5 miles from your house, even if they might not be your ideal event. I'd do a hilly RR every week before I got up for a 5:30 start in central park. And at 150 pounds I go up hill pretty good, even if I don't have the training to climb with the elite masters climbers right now.
