Yes on the steel frames from Taiwan, but some are of better tubing than others. I have a 1986 Raleigh Competition for sale, frame is made in Taiwan, with Reynolds 531 main tubes.

Mine is 410, is that the lowest tubing? I know its only an entry level bike, but it rides so well!
