"Granny Gear" usually is the smallest chainring on a triple crank. But, I've also heard it refer to the smallest gearing on the bike, period. Meaning, smallest chainring on the front and largest cog on the back.
Thanks! I have a compact double up front but 11-32 (11-speed) on the rear. I was referring to the 32T cog as my granny gear. I guess I was using the term vaguely.
