While walking my bike at the Seattle Center, at the base of the Space Needle, a young boy, maybe 5, yelled out "I like your bike, mister!". I turned around, said thank you and gave him a thumbs-up.
On the ride back on the Burke-Gilman, I was taking it easy and a couple fast guys on modern carbon went by on my left. One of them looked over at me, pointed at my bike and gave me a thumbs up. He was probably in his 30s.
I just hope that when that 5 year old grows up he remembers that brief moment and in one way or the other keeps the flame alive.

Note the care taken to get both of the valve stems at high noon.
