Shelled quickly. Pedaled around for a couple laps to try and earn a place in the 20km race. If I got 2nd last then I might have gotten 5th? There were only 12 in the race, at least half were 40-44, the other half was with me 45-49. Tiny fields are no fun but unusually there wasn't a much stronger rider in the field so it stayed together. It would have been ideal for me had I had just a touch more fitness.

At least when I got shelled the Missus overhead someone in the field "Hey, we dropped a good sprinter, let's keep it that way." Next lap: "Oh, he's done."
