Seriously, though, what's with this inability to accept that people like football? It's become an internet meme anywhere Americans go online. People start to talk about the World Cup or club football matches, and the Americans feel the need to chime in with how much they hate it. It's become one of the most dependable cliches out there.
There's something really odd going on in a psychological sense. Like Americans feel threatened by football, or something. It's really weird.
It's not violent enough for most Americans. Like most things, we only get interested if (the collective) we can bring in some violence. Personally, I'd rather watch football (aka soccer) than football.
