3/8"-26, and 13/32"-26 are 2 separate sizes - there is .03125" difference in diameter.

26 TPI is an old British motorcycle thread standard - some probably had a lathe that would only do 26 TPI thread - it is used on all sorts of bolt diameters, from very small (where it is a very coarse thread) to quite large (where it is a very fine thread).
