Two years I rode the RAAM stretch from Athens, OH to Hancock, MD. I just got into Cumberland from Hancock, riding the RAAM course backwards. I was about to hop off the road and go for C&O but it sounds like my road tires wouldn't be a wise thing to do. Worse yet, I'm planning on heading up ALT40 to Wheeling and into Ohio and I know it would be real nice to get rid of some of the climbing, 13,000 feet in the next 145 miles but using Bontrager 700x25 T2s...I don't think the GAP is going to happen.

The area seems so familiar even though it has been two years since I was here. It's so spooky.
