It's easy and relatively cheap to have a spare 2-speed wheel and swap it in for a lighter weight bike for flat terrain.

Is this true for the current 2013/14 models? If so, has anyone done this?

I mean, the weight-savings from a 2-speed is undeniably useful for day-to-day multi-modal commuting while the 6-speed can be used for when I plan to do a bit of touring or longer distances.

I'm not that technically proficient but I would certainly put in the time and effort to learn how to switch and maintain wheels if this works.
did you finally get the Ti Brompton, keyven? what type did you get? what color?
