Around here they put gas motors on some old clunker to cheat the system. They usually fail epically when the police pull them over at 11pm going down the wrong side of the highway without proper lighting and freshly sloshed from the local bar.
Not to mention they are so loud and obnoxious. A few buildings down from mine there is a guy regularly riding, assembling and selling these contraptions out of his garage. Everyday at any hour I could hear him coming and going from a mile away. He has stopped for a while now and I have no idea if the cops finally got hold of him or his landlord confronted him. To give him credit, he did make them look good.
