There are still lots of good bar options in 25.4, and you can still find used. I just put an on one Midge bar on my partners touring bike. I had a salsa woodchipper but she didn't like it. It is a threadless set-up (with an extention, it's hideous and weighs a ton)... but it is a 25.4 bar nonetheless..
