In a previous thread a Soma long RD cage was recommended for a campy derailleur to increase the capacity to handle a larger rear cog. My concern is does the campy nuevo record and super record RD of the mid 80's-early 90's era have the spring capacity to handle that long lever? Is there a way to increase the power of that tension spring?

Has anyone made this work well?
