Bikes: 2008 TREK FX 7.2, 1985 Peugeot P10 'Loire',..1987 PE10N 'Premiere'

bar tape .......cloth or cork.?

i have Dupuytren's contracture in right hand and beginning also in left...
so i have padded cork on my Peugeot 'daily' bike

.
however - just bought a set of Guidons Philippe bars from France for #1 Peugeot
and i feel thick cork tape will be wrong
looking at your all C&V bikes you appear to use good quality tape [cotton.?]
i assume the bar-tape is wound up to the 'lip'..?

any suggestions welcomed
regards................john

EDIT
with such a lip - would you wind from the lip down to the bar-end, and so not have to use a finishing tape..?
