you dont screw the pedal into the back side of the crankarm ... unless you F'd up the threads in the crank arm
and have to straighten out them screwing the pedal in backwards , then taking it back out then screw it in as it should be..

If you reach across the Hub to do a wheel truing across the wheel , on the bike , far side of the rim , where the brake pads are,
.. your truing reference ..

you turn the Nip CCW though it is still RH Thread..
