Still, I think you may underestimate the extent to which economic greed drives the production of sprawl and indifference toward having transit and cycling on par with driving. I understand the irritation with economic critique, as I experience that as well, but I also think it's worth acknowledging that money-making and spending is driving the development of nice land into sprawl along with the dismissal of transit and cycling as viable forms of transportation.
