why is this done?
I've done many long distance rides into rural areas along back roads and trails which I was unfamiliar with, never been there before... I always used old fashioned paper maps/atlases and never get lost...Even when I used to drive a lot before I was car-free , I would never use GPS...My brain is my GPS ...Modern humans have lost their sense of direction because of all the electronic gizmos that they depend on everyday. When the batteries go out they're lost....Paper maps and atlases are fun to read, I have a stack load of them at home.
