new chain with old sprockets = chainsuck
chain doesn't smoothly disengage from teeth, gets wrapped up and around

also poor FD adjustment or shifting technique may be factors

blurry pic, but derailer looks set too high, might explain past shifting issues...


p.s.
just me ? or do road FD commonly have more shifting issues than mtb?
