Almost everyone. Geraint Thomas was interviewed on Eurosport immediately after the stage, and congratulated on leading Froome out to a sixth place finish. He was, like, "what? he was sixth? Whoa, that's a great result"
They were just trying to keep Froome in contention. I suspect they were helped out by the crash, and that Froome weaved through some slowing riders.
