I've got an Allez Elite. I've raced a couple times and really enjoyed it. I didn't finish first, but I didn't finish last either. I did finish ahead of several people with a lot more invested in their ride than me though. I'm sure I got beat by someone who thinks the same thing of me as well.
Just get out there and have some fun. That's what it's all about.
