What windup hassles? Lubricate to minimize windup (I like anti-seize, but grease and oil work fine), quantify windup with tape flags on representative spokes (the first after the valve hole, plus the second on rear wheels) or Sharpie dots on all of them, and undo. This works the same for 2.0/1.5mm spokes as it does 2.0/1.8mm. No problems through at least 130kgf.
