Yay, the Magic Bike is supposed to be done tomorrow. LBS got the frame from BMC today, but depending on time it's ready, we may not be able to pick it up until Wednesday because of rush hour traffic, it will turn an hours drive into 2 hours easy.
I hope it's back with no drama, because I am hosting maybe 10 people for a climbing party Sunday morning. Repeats of an 8.5 mile climb, I'd like to do three but I'm not sure I'll have time since most people won't want to do that many and we're supposed to go to lunch afterward. If the Magic Bike is not back, Ive been strong-armed into agreeing to ride the Sparrow. I'm more concerned about the descents than the climbing on that bike because of the braking. I need to figure out what type of pads I can really put on.
Bontrager calls for cork. The word on the Internet (for what that's worth) is mixed- some people say that even with new cork pads, the braking is not secure on these particular wheels. Some people say its fine. Some people say you can put other pads on the wheels to improve the braking. I will have to try to call Bontrager and see what they say. I'm going to be busy at work tomorrow so hopefully I can find the time.
