Had one try to go nose first into my front spokes during a downhill. Knocked him out for a couple of minutes, then he ran away. I'm sure he didn't feel good after that.
Mostly here in Texas we have big grasshoppers that sit on the road in front of you and jump up at the last second and bounce off of you.
