I'm sitting here counting my blessings that I just hit another cyclist and got bruised up.
Just received word that another bicycle rider has been killed at an intersection I frequently ride through. They've tarped the vehicle that hit the rider as apparently rescue workers are having a difficult time extracting the body from underneath. Happened about an hour ago so no further details have been made available other than the fatality has been confirmed.
I got off light.
I just heard about this today. Girl was riding on the sidewalk going against traffic on that side of the street, passed a driveway, and a woman in an SUV was pulling out and looking to her left at oncoming traffic (cyclist approaching from the right). Never even saw the girl on the bike. Just an example of how dangerous sidewalk riding can be.
