Well, third time lucky I guess. The latest xrdc is still going strong, and my wife's has never had any problems and she rides just as much as me and is pretty hard on her stuff.
I guess I just had some bad luck with the first two.

I'm also considering using the proven X-RD free*wheel* hub though I'm loathe to return to fw and axle issues. It certainly would have been nice if SunRace chose to use a generic Shimano freehub in their cassette hub design :-P
