I found a guy selling a 56cm (custom geo, they normally do 55cm or 57cm) Low// pursuit bike. I'm 85% sure the 56cm would fit me better than either the 55 or 57, which makes me think I should jump on it. Bike has never been built-up and he's asking $800 for frame + alpina fork.

Should I buy it to try out alu frame/carbon fork track bike or should I wait for something else? After having ridden only steel I'm curious about the alu/carbon combo (weight, responsive front end, snappy back end) and am thinking that although $800 is a lot, the frame will retain it's resale value if I don't like it. Best case the GEO is perfect, worst case I have to re-sell it.

What do you folks think? Worth the $800 flier? I'm pretty sure that due to my location (Oakland, bay area) and what Low// is asking from new buyers (4 month wait, $1200 for frame only) that $800 for frame & fork ain't really that much to ask for from a lightly used Low// frame if it comes to that.
