First off with all do respect gregjones I am not "dreaming" about getting a cheap bike. If you read my post in full you would see that I don't mind spending the extra money if it's worth it. You made no recommendations nor did you explain what makes a frame good or bad. I already know that cheap and quality don't go hand in hand my last bike was a specialized rockhopper and honestly I love it and it set me back north of $900 new but I can see the difference between it and my friends POS bike. But when I look threw these bikes online there really doesn't seem to be much of a difference other than what steel is used. The weight stays relatively the same with the exception being the wabi.
But the other bikes I've found seem to be built just as well. Take a look at the whiskey by aerofix and compare it to say the kilo tt and the wabi. Understandable the wabi costs more but take components out of the equation for a moment. Is the wabi worth the additional $600 for a couple pounds?
And finally the use of the bike is for fittness, cruising, playing around the house, and inner city fun. I know the fixie is what I want. This is me getting my ducks in a row. I don't just want recommendations or peoples own biases I want proof of why spending $500 more is neccisery to get a good dependable frame. I've heard the talk. "Cheap is a no go" "don't buy cheap" "quit dreaming about that" yet not a soul ever explains why. All I want is to know what makes a quality fixie bike. Explain why one bike is better than another. Throw pics of yours up here I don't care. I just want to learn the difference.
