I just bought an 8.2 DS a month or so ago for $50.00 under MSRP from a LBS. You *can* get them under MSRP but you gotta shop around. You are going for the 8.6 it sounds like. I am happy with my 8.2 since I live in a particularly flat part of Arizona where hills are rarely part of my route. So, I passed on disc brakes but would really like to be able to lock out the front end since most of my riding is on paved surfaces. Another thing I wish I had was another ring on the rear. It seems to be a slow grind even on the flat stuff. Good luck with your purchase, I am sure you will enjoy your new hybrid!
