I don't think I'd necessarily think it was some lowlife from the projects or whatever. Given the chance, I think the majority of people will steal if they think they can get away with it. I wouldn't trust my neighbors or anyone else.
You wait. Someone will screw up and you'll get that bike back.

I agree... I am willing to bet the the person who took the bike had no clue what they were doing... It is possible that this is their first theft... I 0once forgot to lock the doors of my car overnight... The next morning I had found that someone went through all of my stuff taking anything that looked like it might be of any value - they took a fake pair of Oakley sunglasses, a really cheap portable CD player and all the coins in my ash tray... I knew the thieves had no idea what they were doing because they left my Gerber multitool (ragged but still worth more than the sunglasses or CD player), a digital tire gauge and they even opened up the CD player that they stole and left the Luther Vandross CD on the passenger seat! lol...
I hope things get worked out for you though... we should keep a look out for it on Ebay and such...
