My SO / riding partner did the same switch on her Dolche.

It was well worth it. It added miles to our days. My bike is geared real low too.
We swapped out after a couple thousand miles. Given people's estimate of pricing our LBS gave us a deal.

It's always good to have a lower gear available if you need it. Besides, some days you might have a load on the bike.
