What you’re seeing is excess wax from the lube and dirt. You probably put too much lube on and that is why it lucks so bad. Some recommend running the chain thru a clean rag to remove it. I say clean your chain again and start from scratch. The trick to lubricating your chain is to not put too much on. A small drop on ever link is all that is needed. I know with most wax lubes it's recommended to let it set up after applying and than wipe off any excess before riding, I am not sure if this is the case with white lightning.
