For some reason I thought they had a Mountech rear derailleur. You're right though. Unless they were beat to death most still function very well.
Ritcheys of the era had nicer paint. They used to paint the Bull Moose bars to match the frame which was a nice touch.
Absolutely correct on the Ritcheys.
My brother still has two from that era and they are special mtbs.
Sooo functional, yet loads of charm.
