The UPS online calculator says $178.53 from Middletown NY to San Antonio TX for 39 pounds in a very common shop bike box size of 56"x8"x31". Shrink that box down to 52" in length and it comes to $115.50. This is with $2K insurance. Attached is receipt for my bike from VA to NH with $3K insurance in the bigger box....$179.11 in 2013. Sent at a UPS store.
