Not a Sram fan here, but you'd have to try both & (I know test rides are short) but see if you feel ok w/ the double-tap scenario or Shimanos. (Both are fine)

Only other things I hear are complaints about Sram hoods, but I can't say I felt much difference. Not owning a Sram, I haven't ridden one long enough to tell.

And as for the racing comment, I'll counter with this (despite my having an Evo) and that is that IF YOU ARE GONNA RACE.......Keep in mind that dented aluminum will survive better than fractured carbon fiber.

BUT......(you knew it was coming).....the carbon fiber frame on the Evo is so compliant, I've often said I don't think C'dale even needs to make a Synapse. It's as if the Evo has a suspension on it....(hidden airbags maybe)

Enjoy the shopping. It's the funnest part!
