Chuck, family visiting intervals? Sounds like fun!
Yes, two hours!
Today, 2 x 20 minute mock TT's, once again striving for smoothness and consistency over time and speed. It was windy today, a good steady wind, not gusty. I'm trending more towards climbing into the pain cave and staying there, and I find the more I do that the deeper I go. The interesting part is that the HR seems to be decreasing for a given steady state power output. It's a little more than subtle, too. One of my fears, I'm finding out, was the pain cave - not going into it, but staying in it and then going deeper. The hurt would scare me into thinking I was going to blow up or lock up or whatever, when in fact that rarely happens. I have this little voice in my head saying "this hurts, don't go harder, this hurts, you need to stop..." Sort of like a devil on my shoulder. I'm starting to ignore it. Progress.
