After the initial excitement of seeing these aggressive new models has worn off, one thing that occurs to me is that the lowest gear these bikes come with, won't enable me to tackle various hills and be sitting down whilst doing it.

For that reason, sadly I'm going to have to rule them out as being suitable for me.
