Awesome ride in today. My office is 4 miles north of my house but I left early to ride 13 miles southwest, over the Sacramento to Yolo County and back up through West Sac along South River Road. For a long stretch it was just me and the herons and hawks.

I fought a strong headwind for the first half but when I turned north on Jefferson Boulevard it became a sweet, sweet tailwind. I jammed it on the big ring and flew.

I ended up with a 27 mile loop and a million-dollar smile on my face.
