The lock ring tool for the 7700 BB came with my BB, but a pair of channel lock pliers could be used in an emergency. The 6500 doesn't have a lock ring, but rather an adapter on the LHS and the BBT-22 will remove it.
You will still need the BBT-22 on the 7700's NDS to keep it stationary while loosening the lock ring.
