I am just recently back into biking after purchasing my 12 year old daughter a new mountain bike.
The bike shop where I purchased the bike has a weekly trail ride which we tried out, and I am once again hooked.
The bike my daughter rides is this Specialized Rumor.
This is the first mountain bike I ever purchased. It is a 1991 Cannondale SE1000. No matter how hard I tried, and what I replace on it, it was a terrible bike (and still is).
The only reason I still own it is because of the paint job that I had Troy Lee put on it. Even at that, one week after I had it reassembled, the derailed hanger broke and rendered the painted swing arm junk.
In 1993 I purchased this bike from the same shop that I just bought my daughters bike from.
It is a Schwinn Paramount Team Issue. I cannot say enough good things about this bike.
It handles great, shifts smooth and weighs in at a scale tipping 19lbs.
I do have to say though, at 50, a full suspension would be nice..
